How does Re Refill work?

 

Re is a local company based in Tampa that is on a mission to reduce plastic consumption by providing a refill service for common household products such as laundry detergent, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, hand soap, all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, and floor cleaner in reusable, refillable containers. When you need a refill, you simply place your order online for delivery or pick-up, and we swap out your empty container with a new full one. Think of us as the modern day milkman!

Does Re make its own products?

 

We do not make the products ourselves. We currently purchase our products in bulk from the following brands: ECOS, Seventh Generation, and Nature’s Oil.

Are your products eco-friendly?

Yes, we offer eco-friendly products that are safe for your home and the environment! Products are made without dyes, parabens, phosphates, and phthalates; readily biodegradable; pH balanced; and greywater and septic safe. ECOS products are manufactured using Zero Waste guidelines in family owned and operated plants powered by 100% renewable energy and they meet U.S. EPA Safer Product Standards (epa.gov/saferchoice).

Are there added fragrances?

While most of our products have added natural fragrances, we offer several fragrance free options, including our Seventh Generation Dishwasher Detergent Pods and our Nature’s Oil Liquid Hand Soap.

Are your products hypoallergenic?

Our ECOS Laundry Detergent and ECOS Dish Soap are hypoallergenic.

Are your products vegan?

 

Yes, our products are vegan.

Are your products cruelty free?

Yes, our products are cruelty free.

Do you have a store? I'd like to see your products before ordering.

 

While we do not currently have a physical store, our products can be seen/sampled in person at A Simpler Place Farm & Market in Riverview, the Fresh Market at Hyde Park Village (first Sunday of the month), and the Seminole Heights Sunday Market (second Sunday of the month).

 

Are refills subscription based?

 

Our refills are not currently subscription based. All refills must be ordered through our website or purchased in person at our farmers’ market booth.

How does the delivery work?

Our products are currently only available for delivery within the Tampa area. After ordering on our website, depending on your location, we deliver the refilled product(s) to customers on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On the day your delivery is due, we bring you a new, refilled bottle(s) and take back the empty bottle(s) so that it can be sanitized, refilled, and reused. Our current delivery schedule is: South Tampa/Downtown on Wednesdays, The Heights/Ybor on Thursdays, and Brandon/Riverview/Fishhawk on Fridays.

How does the refill/swap service work? Can you deliver if I’m not home?

On the day of your scheduled delivery, you will leave your empty container(s) by your front door. We will swap it out with a refilled container(s) and take the empty one(s) back with us to be sanitized and refilled. With this option you do not need to be home. If you are scheduled for a refill and there is no container left outside for us, we will knock for an in-person swap. If no one is home and a bottle is not left out, we will need to charge for the new bottle. If you have any special instructions for delivery (such as a gate code), please let us know by emailing us at info@re-refill.com.

 

Can I choose my delivery day?

 

We do not offer a custom delivery day option. By grouping together deliveries to certain areas on certain days, we are able to reduce our carbon footprint and keep delivery costs low.

 

How much is the delivery?

 

The delivery fee is $5, while pick-up is free. Because the delivery is a flat fee, it is most economical to order more than one product at a time.

Do you have pick-up locations?

 

We currently offer pick-up at A Simpler Place Farm & Market located at 9903 Carr Rd, Riverview, FL 33569. We also regularly attend the Fresh Market at Hyde Park Village (first Sunday of the month) and the Seminole Heights Sunday Market (second Sunday of the month) where we have our products available for in-person purchase.

 

Can I give you my own containers for a refill?

 

We currently do not accept refill containers that are different from our own. The reasoning for this is that it would be too difficult to manage too many different containers that are designated to different customers. Tare weights would become complicated and the cost of service would increase. Instead, when you receive your refills, you may transfer the products to your own containers and we will collect our refill containers on your next delivery date. However, stay tuned for physical refill stations where you can refill your own containers yourself!

 

Is there a deposit on the containers?

 

Our refill containers each have an initial purchase fee which varies by size. The 64 oz jugs have a deposit fee of $4.00, the 32 oz bottles are $3.50, and the 32 oz jars are $3.00. After the initial fee is paid, all subsequent bottle exchanges are free!

Do you only offer glass containers?

 

We currently only offer glass, BPA-free containers. We do not offer plastic containers since our mission is to reduce plastic. More likely than not, customers already have plastic containers on hand that can be used to transfer Re’s products into if a plastic container is desired.

Do I have to order a Re Starter Kit in order to get started? Can the starter kit containers be sent back to Re to be refilled?

 

No. The Re Starter Kit is available to offer all of our products in conveniently-sized “end use” containers such as 16 oz spray bottles and pump dispensers that are easier to use on a day-to-day basis. Refills, on the other hand, are larger and can be used to refill the smaller containers. The smaller end use containers are a one-time purchase that the customer keeps, whereas the larger refill containers can be swapped out/refilled again and again for zero waste cleaning.  

 

How long do refills last?

 

This will vary based on factors such as household size and individual use of the products. For example, a 64 oz laundry detergent refill should last for 64 loads if the recommended 1 oz per wash is used. If a household does 10 loads per week, the laundry detergent will last for approximately 6 weeks. Product refills are measured to last a family of four at least one month on average.

 

What do you do with the refillable packaging?

 

We reuse them! When we deliver the new refill bottles, we take back the empty containers, sanitize them, and refill them again. That way no waste ends up in a landfill.

 

How far in advance should I order? For example, if I order on Wednesday, would I get my refill that same week?

We currently offer delivery in the Tampa area to South Tampa/Downtown on Wednesdays, the Heights/Ybor on Thursdays, and Brandon/Riverview/Fishhawk on Fridays. Orders must be placed by 5pm the day prior to your area’s delivery day in order to receive your delivery the same week. We also offer pick-up at a Simpler Place Farm & Market in Riverview, to which we make weekly deliveries on Fridays. Your pick-up order must be placed by 5pm Thursday for your pick-up order to be available the same week.

Will you ship your products?

We do not currently ship our products. Shipping glass would not only be expensive, but it would also produce a lot of waste to ship it safely, which would be in direct conflict with our mission.
